Thank you for taking the time to read a little about me! I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO and a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling & Psychotherapy Association. I completed my Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Psychology from Brock University and my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
How I got here
Therapy with me can look different every session, depending on what you might be experiencing and wanting out of that particular session. I will begin each of our sessions with a weekly check-in, where we discuss any immediate concerns and/or what's been coming up for you more recently. Depending upon that weekly check-in, we will collaboratively gauge how to plan the remainder of the session. Our agenda could include psycho-education, validation of your felt emotions, unpacking/dissecting significant experiences, emotion regulation, and/or a probing conversation with the goal of digging deeper. Overall, therapy with me is open-minded, explorative, non-judgmental, empowering, educational, and goal-oriented.

Why the therapeutic relationship is important
Personally, I believe the therapeutic relationship means so much to the effectiveness of the work we do together and the outcome of our sessions. In order to reach your goals for therapy, the two of us should be motivated towards developing a relationship that characterizes a sense of trust, respect, empathy, genuineness, and openness. The stronger our relationship, the more comfortable and safe you are going to feel within our sessions and while discussing your experiences, which will then in turn, allow me to gain more insight into your life, thought processes, and emotional experiences.
Stress, anxiety, depression, concerns around self-esteem/self-confidence/self-acceptance, and improving one’s overall well-being, through building adaptive coping mechanisms and implementing positive life transitions.
