Lara Williston
MA, Registered Psychotherapist (Q) she/her
Hi! I'm Lara and I'm glad you're here with me! I'm a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the CRPO. I received my Bachelor of Science from the University of Guelph and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
How I got here
In our first session, I will aim to understand what weighs you down, and how you desire to feel in your life. From their we will discuss how to best navigate that growth. I want to know what has worked for you in the past, as well as what has not. I offer non-judgemental and empathic listening to create an environment that feels safe and welcoming for you.
Our first session
Therapy is a personal journey, and no two paths will look the same. My therapeutic approach is relational, meaning we will work together to find the path that feels most aligned for you. Whether you’re seeking to be heard, for your pain to be witnessed, or to find your way back to yourself, we will create the healing space that you need. I enjoy supporting all clients in reconnecting to the wisdom of their body and the felt sensations of your emotional truths.
My approach
Anxiety, relationship issues, neurodivergence, developmental trauma, incident trauma, and depression. I also have experience supporting clients with BPD, suicidal ideation, self-harm, and OCD.
Who I work with
Emotionally focused therapy (EFT), Somatic attachment therapy, Internal family systems (IFS) therapy, Compassion focused therapy.
Outside of therapy you’ll find me
My trainings and approach to therapy
I enjoy cuddling with my cat, Frank, dropping into a dance or spin class, and spending time with my family and friends.
